Discerning shoppers will recognize the Austrian trademark Swarovski as one of the great manufacturers of precision-cut crystal. It all started here, just east of Innsbruck, when in 1895 Daniel Swarovski founded the company’s first mill. Today, savvy shoppers visit Swarovski Crystal World, a complex gleaming with water, glass, and crystal – a display that’s more avant-garde exposition than museum. The newly expanded complex is in Wattens, approximately 20 km east of Innsbruck along the A12 Autobahn.
